Arjan advises, negotiates and litigates for major national and multinational corporations as well as key executives in the Netherlands on a broad range of corporate employment matters. He focuses on employment-related dispute resolution, including the dismissal of directors appointed under articles of association, terms of employment, directors’ and officers’ liability, summary dismissal, employee representation, employment termination law, incentive schemes, share-based compensation and complex negotiations relating to such issues. Arjan is also a lecturer at Maastricht University.
He regularly gives lectures and seminars on various employment law topics (including the dismissal of directors appointed under articles of association, summary dismissal and employee representation).
Arjan successfully completed the postgraduate employment law programme (PALA) in 2021 and is a member of the Dutch Association for Employment Lawyers (VAAN), the Employment Law Association (VvA), the Dutch Corporate Litigation Association (VCL) and the Dutch Association for Procedural Law (NVvP). He joined Houthoff in August 2015 and is admitted to the Amsterdam Bar.

Mobiquity provides digital consulting services for the world’s leading brands, such as Amazon Web Services, Rabobank, Philips, Wawa, Backbase and Otsuka. Houthoff worked jointly with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP on this transaction.
