Steffie specialises in employment law. She advises Dutch and international companies on all aspects of employment law and litigates on individual and collective employment law issues, including termination law. Steffie also provides (strategic) advice on employee participation law, employee benefits matters and reorganisations, often as part of or following a merger, acquisition or restructuring process.

Advised Vivo Energy on a transaction with Engen which adds operations in eight new countries and 230 Engen-branded service stations to Vivo Energy's network.
Houthoff represented Sandd in the acquisition of Van Straaten Post from its previous owners. The combined group is able to service the 24-, 48- and 72- hours postal market throughout the work week with national coverage. The acquisition is part of Sandd’s strategy to become a real alternative on the Dutch postal market.
Houthoff has advised tesa SE on the acquisition of shares in the capital of Nijkerk-based Polymount International B.V. from its current shareholders. Polymount is active in the business of developing, manufacturing and sale of a producer of self-adhesive ‘twinlock’ sleeves used in printing presses. The new combined infrastructure of Polymount’s Twinlock division and tesa will create opportunities for synergy and growth on a global scale.
Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., the world leader in serving science, acquired Phenom-World, a leader in desktop scanning electron microscopy (SEM) solutions. Thermo Fisher will integrate the business into Thermo Fisher's Analytical Instruments segment. Based in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, Phenom-World delivers desktop SEMs, and imaging and analysis packages, for research and industrial markets. The addition of Phenom World's leading desktop SEM platform strengthens Thermo Fisher's leadership in electron microscopy.
Houthoff represented Varo Energy in the acquisition of United Fuel Groep BV, which resulted in the expansion of Varo Energy's retail network with 22 retail service stations in the Eastern Netherlands and wholesale and lubricants business activities.
Dassault Systèmes, a developer of 3D design and engineering software, acquired AITAC B.V., which, together with its subsidiaries, develops marine and offshore engineering software.
The acquisition allows Dassault Systèmes to strengthen its marine and offshore portfolio.
