Going public versus Staying private

Sooner or later successful entrepreneurs are faced with the question whether they should float their company on the stock market. Going public has advantages, like strengthening a company's cash position and profile, that make it easier to create value and to gain a competitive advantage. However, keeping property in private hands can also have clear benefits, because it is easier to keep control of the business.
