Houthoff and VIVAT act as core speakers at the Hague Master Class for Chinese Enterprises
On 15 March 2018, Houthoff was invited by The Hague Business and Asian Business Centre to act as one of two core speakers at the Hague Master Class for Chinese Enterprises with a focus on the Dutch Pension System. The other speaker is the Dutch insurance company VIVAT/Zwitserleven.
Firstly, Ilja van Haaren, Executive Director at The Hague Business Agency and Guosheng Zhang, Economic and Commercial Counsellor at the Chinese Embassy in the Netherlands, successively gave the opening addresses, both of who highly appraised the economic and trade cooperation between China and the Netherlands in recent years. Secondly, Huib Lebbing, Partner at Houthoff, and Hans Visser, Director at Zwitserleven, respectively made brief introductions on Houthoff and VIVAT/Zwitserleven.
On behalf of Houthoff, Laila Berrich made a presentation on Dutch pension system from the legal perspective. Chantal Presilli and Yang Wan also participated the event on behalf of Houthoff.
Furthermore, Ria Blok Leenheer and Willem Bisschop Van Tuinen from VIVAT/ Zwitserleven gave a speech on Dutch pension system from the practical perspective and provided some suggestions on the pension plan of Chinese enterprises in the Netherlands.
Approximately 80 participants coming from 50 Chinese companies including most large and reputable companies in the Netherlands like Huawei, ZTE, ICBC, CCB etc. attended the event.
