Houthoff appoints new representative for Greater China

As of 6 April 2021 Yang Wan is appointed as the firm's Greater China representative. Yang joined Houthoff in 2014 and has worked as China Project Manager on many China-related projects, including several landmark Chinese investments in the Netherlands.Yang will be based in Shanghai and represent Houthoff in the market of Greater China. As a representative, Yang will be responsible for further developing business contacts with companies in the region who do business, or want to do business, in the Netherlands. She is also in close contact with law firms in the region that Houthoff has long-standing ties with. In addition to Shanghai, Houthoff has representatives in Tokyo (JP), Singapore and Houston (US).

Yang Wan and China TeamYang has a combined background in law and finance, which provides her with a comprehensive and deep understanding of M&A transactions and international investments. She received her Chinese bar qualification certificate in 2011 and is a Ph.D. candidate in Law at the University Cologne (DE) with her doctoral research regarding foreign direct investment screening. Before that, she studied law at Leiden University and Beijing Normal University. Yang's sole responsibility as representative will be Houthoff's business development in the Greater China region.
Houthoff started its China practice in 1994 and established a dedicated China team in 2004. Houthoff has provided legal services to several hundreds of Chinese companies in the Netherlands and is renowned for acting as the legal adviser of Chinese investors in M&A cross-border transactions. The China Team was highly recommended by Chambers and Partners as a team that “offers significant experience of advising on matters which combine the Dutch and Chinese markets”.
