Jakelijn specialises in commercial tenancy law and also works within other legal areas relevant to the real estate practice. Her work mainly involves assisting in transactions and drafting contracts, advising, negotiating and litigating in tenancy law-related issues and other, often complex, civil real estate cases. Her clients include property companies, banks, estate agents, property developers, investors and public authorities.

Jakelijn is a regular contributor to the journal for tenancy law of commercial space Tijdschrift voor Huurrecht Bedrijfsruimte (TvHB) and a member of its editorial board.

  • Advised Authentix Inc on the acquisition of Koninklijke Joh. Enschedé.
  • Advised Bridgepoint Advisers II Limited on its acquisition of the DataExpert group, a leading provider of products and services to combat cybercrime and fraud and deliver forensic and incident response solutions.
  • Advised Vestia, once the largest social housing corporation of the Netherlands, with the legal demerger of Vestia into three new social housing corporations. This transaction included the division of Vestia's real estate portfolio, consisting of approximately 65,000 rental units with a value of EUR 11.5 billion. 
  • Advised Proto Labs, Inc, in collaboration with Faegre Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP (lead counsel), on the USD 330 million acquisition of the Dutch start-up 3D Hubs, the Dutch platform for digital 3D printers.

  • Advised the LOI, one the largest private educational institutions in the Netherlands, on the sale of the nearly 100-year-old family business to the NCOI, one of its close competitors.
  • Advised Nuclear Research Group (NRG) on the sale of its dosimetry services division to Mirion Technologies.

  • Represented Klaas Puul in its merger with Foppen Groep. Both Foppen and Klaas Puul are well known business in the salmon and shrimp processing industry and have long histories as family owned businesses in the food industry. The businesses have been in existence for respectively 100 and 50 years.
