Privay Data Protection

Privacy and Data Protection

Every organisation processes personal data, like information on employees or customers. The Internet of Things and the increasing use of cloud services, as well as growing globalisation, means that it has become a challenge to process personal data in a way that is secure and complies with privacy laws.

Houthoff's Privacy & Data Protection Team has extensive experience in advising and assisting clients on adapting their corporate policy to comply with EU and Dutch privacy laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation. They regularly perform privacy audits for clients. Our privacy specialists advise clients on areas such as the privacy aspects of insourcing and outsourcing business activities, the notification of data breaches, the performance of data analyses (big data), data protection impact assessments (DPIAs), central HR databases, storage periods, whistleblower schemes, processing agreements, employee codes of conduct for email and the internet, and the transfer of data to the United States and other countries outside the EEA in the context of these activities.

Our Privacy & Data Protection Team has gained specific expertise within a number of sectors, including e-commerce, FinTech, the automotive industry, finance and retail.
