Chantal's work covers a broad area, including corporation tax, dividend withholding tax and wage tax. Besides being a tax expert, Chantal is also a lawyer. One of her fields of expertise is procedural tax law. She regularly assists clients with their objections and appeals in tax matters and also has extensive experience representing tax advisers in professional liability cases. She has represented clients in various Supreme Court cases and is a member of Houthoff's Supreme Court Team. In addition, she advises on international restructuring projects, M&A and financing. Chantal regularly advises clients on the tax implications of management participation plans.

Chantal's professional memberships include the Dutch Association of Tax Advisers (NOB) and the Dutch Tax Lawyers Association (NVAB). She has a seat on the Tax Law Advisory Committee of the Netherlands Bar (NOvA) and the NOB's Procedural Tax Law Section. In addition, she serves as a deputy judge at the Noord-Holland District Court. Chantal is also a lecturer at the Law Firm School and regularly publishes for renowned tax journals. For example, she is an annotator for the NTFR Dutch tax law journal and comments on legislative texts for the NDFR Dutch tax law resource.

  • Advised European Healthcare Acquisition & Growth Company B.V., a Euronext Amsterdam-listed special purpose acquisition company (SPAC), on entering into a business combination with Croma-Pharma GmbH.

  • Advised and represented Argos Wityu on the acquisition of Schenk Tanktransport.
  • Advised Orkla with the purchase of 75% of shares in New York Pizza. New York Pizza is one of the leading pizza chains in the Netherlands.
  • Advised Platinum Equity on Landal GreenParks' sale to Roompot.
  • Assisted GEA in the sale of Royal De Boer Stalinrichtingen B.V. and Japy SAS to Mutares SE & Co. KGaA.
  • Advised Timex Group and its shareholders on the acquisition of a majority interest by The Baupost Group. The existing shareholders of Timex Group retain a substantial interest in the business. Timex Group manufactures and distributes watches under brands as Guess, Versace, Salvatore Ferragamo, Furla and Ted Baker.
  • Represented Agilitas Private Equity Services Limited in the acquisition of TenCate Advanced Armour Holding B.V., the global leading manufacturer of lightweight survivability solutions.
  • Advised BC Partners on the acquisition of Keesing Media Group from Ergon Capital and Mediahuis.
  • Advised Keizerskroon Beheer B.V. with regard to the sale of a majority stake in Easy Sanitary Solutions B.V. (ESS) to Hansgrohe SE.
  • Advisering Keizerskroon Beheer B.V. bij de verkoop van een meerderheidsbelang in Easy Sanitary Solutions B.V. (ESS) aan Hansgrohe SE.
  • Houthoff has advised Torqx Capital Partners on its acquisition of the majority of the shares in Sonic International (Hong Kong) Limited. Sonic International (Hong Kong) Limited and its subsidiaries are active in the business of development, marketing, sale and distribution of professional hand tools and storage solutions systems.
  • Advised Strik Bedrijven Beheer B.V. on the sale of 75% of the shares in Innovative Taste B.V. to Barentz International B.V.

  • Houthoff advised the shareholders (Waterland Private Equity and management) on the sale of the Infradata group to IK Investment Partners
  • Advised Equistone Partners Europe Ltd. on the sale of MPS Meat Processing Systems, the leading company for the manufacturing of slaughtering machines, to Marel for EUR 382 million.
