Qualifications & Experience

  • LL.M. Dutch Law (Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam)
  • LL.M. Notarial Law (Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam)
  • Advised Vestia, once the largest social housing corporation of the Netherlands, with the legal demerger of Vestia into three new social housing corporations. This transaction included the division of Vestia's real estate portfolio, consisting of approximately 65,000 rental units with a value of EUR 11.5 billion.
  • Advised Dusseldorp Automotive B.V., a Dutch BMW- and MINI dealer, on the acquisition of the VMD Group from Autobinck Group.
  • Houthoff advised a development combination of Amvest and Kondor Wessels Vastgoed (part of VolkerWessels) on the acquisition and financing of a former faculty complex of the Delft University of Technology called 'Gele Scheikunde'. Amvest and KWV will redevelop the characteristic, yellow-coloured chemistry complex into approximately 300 homes. In the new plans, the grounds are an important link between the Delft city centre and the university campus. The transaction has a value of EUR 20,100,102.
  • Together with the VMRG, the branch organization for facades, Houthoff has developed the very first lease-based agreement whereby the facade of a building remains the property of the facade builders after delivery by way of a right of ground lease. A right of ground lease has not been used in such a way before. This means a breakthrough in the circular facade economy.
