Matthew specialises in international arbitration, representing and advising clients in arbitration proceedings under the auspices of, among others, the ICC, DIAC, NAI and CEPANI. His practice includes commercial matters as well as investment arbitration proceedings under UNCITRAL and ICSID. He coaches Leiden University's team for the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Court Competition and has previously coached teams from Afghanistan and the Middle East. While in law school, his team reached the final 16 of the Willem C. Vis Moot, and Matthew received an honourable mention as Best Oralist.
Matthew is admitted to the bar in New York. He is not admitted to the bar in the Netherlands and does not advise on Dutch law.
