Pieter is a candidate civil-law notary in the Real Estate practice group. Pieter specialises in (corporate) real estate transactions and joint ventures. He advises clients on project developments, the purchase and sale of real estate (through asset or share deals) and on joint venture / shareholders' agreements.
Advised a.s.r. real estate on the acquisition – on behalf of ASR Dutch Prime Retail Fund – of a retail portfolio from Phoenix Joint Venture C.V. with a total value of approximately € 100 million.
Houthoff advised GIC, Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund, on the joint venture agreement with Equinix for more than USD 1 billion to develop and operate hyperscale data centres in Europe. The joint venture will acquire two operational data centres in London and Paris and plans to futher develop data centres in Amsterdam, Frankfurt (two sites) and London. Houthoff was co-counsel to Kirkland & Ellis on this transaction.
Houthoff recently advised on the acquisition of the shares in the IEF portfolio by a consortium led by CBRE Global Investors (three institutional investors from the Netherlands, plus CBRE Dutch Retail Fund). IEF is a joint venture formed by Bouwfonds Investment Management and IEF Capital. The portfolio consists of 31 Dutch retail properties (mostly flagship stores), including the well-known Dutch retail chains HEMA and de Bijenkorf.
Houthoff advised ASR Dutch Mobility Office Fund (DMOF) on the acquisition of the ABN AMRO office located at Daalsesingel in Utrecht's city centre from PingProperties.

Houthoff advised CBRE Global Investors (NL) B.V. regarding the acquisition by DRES Master Fund / REI Netherlands of the Project Boompjes 55-58 in Rotterdam, a new real estate development of 344 residential units, parking spaces and commercial space. The seller is First Sponsor (a real estate developer / investor from Singapore) together with Provast (a Dutch real estate developer).
