Willemijn focuses on the supervision of the financial markets. She gives advice to financial companies on financial regulatory law and contract and property law with a special focus on matters that involve Dutch financial regulators (the Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM) and De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB)). More specifically, Willemijn gives advice to clients on financially regulatory governance issues within financial companies, such as outsourcing and reinsurance constructions.

Willemijn is involved in M&A transactions in the financial sector and advises on related matters, for example, the regulatory status of the companies to be acquired, permit applications from and permissions by the AFM and DNB. She is experienced in national and international M&A transactions (including private acquisitions, management buy-outs, joint ventures and other strategic partnerships).

  • Houthoff advised a.s.r., a large Dutch insurance company, on the acquisition of VvAA Levensverzekeringen, the life insurance business of VvAA Groep. The life insurance portfolio comprises approximately 18,000 policies. The annual premium income is EUR 28m, and the technical provisions amount to EUR 430m. In addition to a multi-year life insurance partnership, VvAA and a.s.r. also intend to further expand the services to VvAA members.
  • Houthoff has advised tesa SE on the acquisition of shares in the capital of  Nijkerk-based Polymount International B.V. from its current shareholders. Polymount is active in the business of developing, manufacturing and sale of a producer of self-adhesive ‘twinlock’ sleeves used in printing presses. The new combined infrastructure of Polymount’s Twinlock division and tesa will create opportunities for synergy and growth on a global scale.
  • Tadano Faun GmbH has acquired its Dutch and Belgian distributors (Waterland Trading B.V. and Waterland Trading B.V.B.A.) from Waterland Trading Vastgoed B.V.. Tadano is amongst others involved in the production and sale of cranes. Tadano has approximately 3000 employees worldwide and a net profit of almost 2 billion US dollar. 
    Tadano was advised by Houthoff in this matter, with the assistance of its Belgian Lex Mundi Partner Liedekerke Wolters Waelbroeck Kirkpatrick.
  • Houthoff represented Eli Global, LLC in the acquisition of all the outstanding shares in the Dutch life insurance company Nederlandsche Algemeene Maatschappij van Levensverzekering Conservatrix N.V.
