On Tuesday 16 June 2020, we organised  our Virtual Roundtable: Cross-Border Compliance and Enforcement Risks Facing European and US Companies in 2020 in cooperation with the leading US firm Paul Hastings.

We adressed the U.S., EU and UK economic sanctions, anti-corruption, human rights and other compliance and enforcement landscape during and after COVID-19. Our presenters provided practical tips and observations for companies doing business internationally in our changing business, compliance and geopolitical enviroment.

Topics discussed included:

  • Compliance considerations: Practical tips and challenges for managing anti-corruption, sanctions and human rights compliance programs and investigations in the COVID-affected world.
  • Legal developments: the evolving US, UK and EU economic sanctions regimes, and new mandatory EU human rights due diligence requirements.
  • Enforcement trends: expected Dutch, US, UK and European anti-corruption, sanctions and human rights enforcement priorities in 2020 and beyond.
