Freeke specialises in governance and regulation. She focuses mainly on advising semi-public, public and private parties at boardroom level on the application and enforcement of legislation within public economic law, in sectors healthcare, education, media and energy. This can involve both sector-specific and cross-sector legislation, such as the Dutch Executives' Pay Standards Act and the Public Enterprises (Market Activities) Act. Part of her work entails providing legal assistance with lobby processes and negotiations between public and private parties. Freeke regularly represents clients in administrative law and civil law proceedings, often on matters of principle. She is also engaged to investigate and resolve highly politically and commercially sensitive irregularities.
