As part of the European Pro Bono Week, on Tuesday 22 November we organised the hybrid seminar Pro Bono in times of crisis: Dutch 'ethnic profiling' case.
Various speakers addressed the ‘ethnic profiling’ case that was brought by two Dutch citizens, together with a coalition of organisations such as Amnesty International, against the Royal Netherlands Military Constabulary about ethnic profiling at Dutch border controls. Lawyers of the Public Interest Litigation Project (PILP), the Dutch Section of the International Commission of Jurists (NJCM) and Houthoff represent the coalition in these proceedings.
The substantive programme was from 3:15 - 5:00 PM (CET), including Mpanzu Bamenga, Hope Rikkelman and Thijs van Aerde.
