Alexander has worked for Houthoff as a lawyer since 2019, mainly focusing on litigating real estate and construction disputes. He has considerable experience both in litigating cases before the Dutch state courts, as well as in pleading cases in arbitration. In addition to arbitrations in construction disputes, Alexander was also involved in high-stakes investment arbitrations.
He also advises and assists clients during the preparation and execution of real estate and construction projects, including during contract drafting and contract negotiations. Using his litigation experience, Alexander effectively advises clients to prevent potential disputes where possible.
Alexander holds an L.L.M. from Leiden University, where he graduated with honours in 2018. Although he chose to study law, Alexander is also skilled in the exact sciences. As a result, he understands technical issues which often arise in construction projects and disputes. Alexander also effectively liaises with the relevant technical experts to prepare advisory memos and submissions which serve his clients' interests.
Clients describe Alexander as particularly efficient in distilling the relevant facts and arguments from large amounts of documents and information typically present in large construction projects and disputes. This enables him to write advisory memos and submissions which are helpful, to the point and convincing.
