The Rotterdam skyline can look forward to a new eye-catcher: a saxophone-shaped skyscraper. The turnkey purchase agreements with the end investors have recently been signed and the go-ahead has been given for construction. BPD and Synchroon concluded the agreements – for the development and construction of a total of 822 rental homes in De Sax – with Achmea Real Estate on behalf of Stichting PME pensioenfonds and with NLV on behalf of Stichting Pensioenfonds Metaal en Techniek. Houthoff has been involved in providing legal advice on this project since 2018.
A team headed by Wychand Kraaij advised Achmea Real Estate and NLV on the purchase. The team also included Jan Cees Kuiken, Hendrik Stolz, Annellyke Mellema and other colleagues.
A team headed by Herman Lohman advised BPD and Synchroon on the project’s property law structuring and worked on various agreements with third parties, including the municipality of Rotterdam, local residents and Q-Park. The team also included Laurens de Hoog, Wouter Ekkelkamp and other colleagues.
