Houthoff D&I Event: Speak Up
Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) is not a passing fad. It is not about legal compliance or HR ticking boxes. In fact, diversity and inclusion are critical factors for success. The #MeToo and #BlackLivesMatter movements, along with the rising racial inequality due to COVID-19 are putting renewed emphasis on D&I agendas. The economic reality is that a diverse workforce is good for business and sustainability.Translating this theory into practice is a challenge for many organisations, and the same is true for us. We wish to continue to learn, inform and share experiences. That is why we hosted the Houthoff D&I Event on 14 October 2021, and the theme was ‘Speak up’.
During this inspiring afternoon, we brought together D&I committees, HR managers and directors to share experiences, dive deep and answer the tough questions. We started with a keynote presentation by Kay Formanek. Participants were then divided into small groups to discuss various D&I topics.
ABOUT KAY FORMANEKKay Formanek is speaker, adviser, author and coach on the transformational power of diversity for organisations and society. She is the founder and CEO of KAY Diversity & Performance, an organisation dedicated to creating new insights and awareness on diversity among leaders. Kay was Managing Director at Accenture for 25 years and contributed to the diversity, inclusion and talent development initiatives.
