Albert Knigge joins the board of Houthoff Buruma

After a term of office of six years, on 1 April 2017 Johan Rijlaarsdam stepped down as board member and Managing Partner of Houthoff Buruma to devote all his time and energy to his own practice again. Strengthening Houthoff Buruma’s Board of Directors is Albert Knigge (1967), who will serve alongside Edward de Bock and Michiel Pannekoek. Edward de Bock succeeds Johan Rijlaarsdam as Managing Partner.

Albert has been a partner at Houthoff Buruma since 2006 and he currently heads the class action and cartel litigation practice, in which capacity he is involved in various leading cases before the Dutch courts.

Albert’s new role on the board will allow Houthoff Buruma to consolidate its position as one of the Netherlands’ leading law firms. The firm will continue on the independent course it has set, and the focus on international matters will remain as important as ever.
