Gerhard Gispen joins Houthoff board

3 January 2019

Gerhard Gispen joined the board of Houthoff on 1 January 2019. He succeeds Michiel Pannekoek who, after being a board member for three years, will fully focus again on his substantially growing M&A practice. Managing Partners Edward de Bock and Albert Knigge will continue as members of the board.

Gerhard Gispen's wide financial experience

Gerhard joined Houthoff in 2016. He has extensive experience in cross-border insolvency cases. He advises and represents both creditors (banks, investment funds and credit insurers) and domestic and foreign bankruptcy trustees in relation to restructurings, relaunches and liquidations. In recent years, his work has mainly focused on the financial and energy sectors. "With the strategic power and experience that Gerhard brings, our board will continue to operate at full strength," according to Edward de Bock, Houthoff's Managing Partner. "I look forward to working together with Gerhard, particularly because I am convinced that as board members we will complement each other very well."

Michiel Pannekoek fully back to his practice

Michiel will fully focus again on his M&A practice, although he will continue to be Houthoff's Chief International Officer. Edward de Bock: "Michiel will fully commit himself to his thriving practice, because that is what he loves doing most. It is this drive that has made him such a successful board member. Under his management our firm has experienced enormous growth, also thanks to the appointment of representatives in Houston, Singapore and Tokyo. We are very grateful for this and happy that he will remain responsible for our international strategy."
