H2 Equity Partners sells Foppen to Hilton Food Group LLC

14 December 2021

The listed company Hilton Food Group has agreed to acquire Dutch Seafood Company, known as Foppen, from H2 Equity Partners.

Foppen, a producer of smoked salmon and a major supplier to Albert Heijn supermarkets, was founded in 1918 by the Foppen family. H2 Equity Partners acquired the company in 2018. Hilton's acquisition of Foppen will expand its presence further in a growing category of protein products and entering the United States, a new market area for Hilton.

The transaction still needs to be approved by the Netherlands Authority for Consumers & Markets (ACM) and Foppen’s works council. The transaction is expected to close early next year.

Houthoff has been assisting H2 Equity Partners in the sale of its portfolio company Dutch Seafood Company. The team includes Michiel Pannekoek, Cherlene Blankson, Alessia Ponticorvo, Jorn Klaassens, Anouk Boutens, Charlotte Kroon, Marloes Brans, Javier Crijnen, Thomas de Weerd, Karim Abass, Jasmijn Harms, Sylvia Dikmans, Diede van der Voort, Gerrit Oosterhuis and Victorine Dijkstra.
