Houthoff reinforces international presence: New York office strengthened

9 January 2026

Houthoff is taking a major step in its international growth ambitions as Corporate/M&A partner Willem Liedenbaum will be joining our New York office for the next few years. He will work closely together with Jessica den Dekker, Head of New York.

From the US, Willem will offer our clients direct access to the Dutch market, bringing with him in-depth expertise in cross-border M&A and capital markets (including acquisitions of listed companies), corporate governance, joint ventures and securities law compliance.

His previous New York experience – a secondment at Sullivan & Cromwell – has familiarised him with the dynamics of the US market. This move underlines Houthoff’s ambition to support our clients worldwide in complex, cross-border transactions.

New York is a strategic hub for our firm. Willem’s presence will strengthen our position and create new opportunities for international transactions. In addition to New York, Houthoff has offices in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Brussels and London, and a representation in Asia.

Willem’s arrival in New York is a tremendous boost to our Dutch law public M&A and broader cross-border offering. With his deep experience and prior time in the New York market, he is an incredible local asset to our U.S. clients and U.S. law firm friends navigating complex transatlantic transactions with a Dutch law angle. I’m truly excited about the years ahead as we continue to expand our footprint with our New York team at Rockefeller Center and further strengthen our role as the go-to gateway for high-end M&A and full-service Dutch law expertise.
