Sarah Mitsuko Honch appointed as representative in Tokyo

29 September 2022

In mid-September, Sarah Mitsuko Honch was appointed as our representative in Tokyo, succeeding Cecile Eijsink-Bonnier. She is the point of contact for our Tokyo-based clients and our Friends network of top-tier law firms in the region. Sarah is responsible for developing new partnerships and further strengthening Houthoff’s international network.

Previously, she worked as an international arbitration and litigation lawyer at a Magic Circle law firm in London. She acted for high-profile commercial clients across various sectors including energy, construction, defence, security, and banking and finance.

Sarah is bilingual in English and Japanese. She was born in Japan and comes from a multicultural background. She has worked in multiple jurisdictions, including Japan, the United Kingdom and the United Arab Emirates. Sarah has lived continuously in Japan since 2016. Her fluency in Japanese, her intimate knowledge of Japanese culture and her former role as a lawyer working on cross-border matters make her the ideal candidate for the Tokyo representative role.
