Jurre specialises in privacy law, data protection law and IT contract law. His work also focuses on e-commerce, media law and copyright law - in which context he advises and litigates. In particular, he regularly advises on the upcoming General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which will come into force on 25 May 2018. He also publishes on data protection and consumer law, as well as media and e-commerce-related topics. His thesis on copyright was published in 2013 by Utrecht University in the context of the 'Best of the Best’ publication series.
Jurre was also winner of the Academy for Legislation’s Thesis Prize in 2012, received a special commendation in the 2012 Molengraaff Thesis Prize, and was winner of the Dutch group of the AIPPI’s VIE Prize in 2013. Jurre is a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals, the Dutch Privacy Law Association, the Dutch Copyright Law Association and the Dutch Media and Communication Law Association. He also takes part in the Houthoff Incubator Programme, a project offering promising start-ups reduced-rate legal advice.
