Courage at Work Survey: share your experience

8 March 2026

To mark international Women’s Day and the 10th anniversary edition of the Houthoff Corporate Ladies Event later this year, we’ve launched the survey Courage at Work. It explorers how women experience courage at work, including the gap between intention and action and the courage paradox. Not everyone experiences courage in the same way. For some people, the challenge is mainly situational: courage depends on context, stakes, or timing.

Why this survey?

Courageous behaviour can take many forms: speaking up, addressing a difficult issue, setting boundaries, or making a decision that comes with trade-offs. We want to better understand what helps women act courageously at work, and what gets in the way. Your experience will help us identify patterns and insights that can support the wider conversation on leadership.

In this survey, courage is not a fixed trait or a moral judgment, we use it as a practical lens to understand when people do (or don’t) take the step they intend to take.

Practical information

Your responses will be completely anonymous. Only aggregated results will be published. We may use anonymised quotes from the open-ended questions in a future publication (no names, company details or identifying information will be used). If a statement doesn’t fit your situation, please choose “Not Applicable”.

If you have any questions about this survey, please do not hesitate to contact us via [email protected]. Completing the survey takes around 6-8 minutes.
