Philip van der Eijk (1988)

Philip specialises in domestic and cross-border M&A transactions. His extensive experience includes assisting with numerous complex disentanglement transactions. In 2018, Philip was seconded to the highly regarded New York law firm of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison. Before that, he worked for the EU and Competition practice groups at Houthoff’s Brussels office. Philip is co-chair of Houthoff’s China Team, and has advised Chinese clients on the largest Chinese acquisitions in the Netherlands. Read on.

GUILLETTE VAN GRINSVEN (1987)

A specialist in M&A, Guillette advises private equity and venture capital investors, as well as strategic operators. Her focus is on transactions that involve cross-border or restructuring aspects and financial regulatory M&A. In 2018, Guillette was seconded to the London branch of Sidley Austin, a large US law firm. Guillette is a board member of the Young M&A Community of Alex van Groningen, and a member of the Legal & Regulatory Committee of Dutch Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (NVP). In 2016, Guillette won the Alex van Groningen award for Best Young Professionals Law. Read on.

MARJOLEIN HEUTEN (1986)

Marjolein is a member of the Litigation and Arbitration practice groups, where she specialises in corporate litigation. She advises and represents clients in various areas including inquiry proceedings, post-M&A disputes and shareholder disputes. Marjolein also lectures at the Law Firm School. Read on. 

PAUL SLUIJTER (1983)

Paul is a member of the Litigation and Arbitration practice groups, where he specialises in complex cross-border proceedings. Drawing on his comprehensive understanding of civil law and litigation and private international law, he advises clients on international strategy, often in cases involving multiple parties and multiple possible court jurisdictions. Examples include class actions, competition law follow-on litigation and complex attachment matters. Paul publishes and lectures on procedural law and private international law. He has a PhD from Tilburg University. Read on.

JET STOLK (1983)

Jet specialises in employment law, with a focus on corporate aspects, including issues such as directors and executives, remuneration, reorganisations, employee participation and transfers of undertakings. Jet also serves on the boards of Amsterdam Employment Lawyers Association (VAAA) and of executive remuneration foundation Stichting Florijn. She teaches multiple courses every year, including on directors and executives and the Dutch Standards for Remuneration Act (WNT). Read on.

REMME VERKERK (1980)

Remme is a member of the Litigation and Arbitration practice groups, where he specialises in civil litigation. He advises clients on realising practical solutions to complicated conflicts, including recognition, enforcement and setting aside of arbitral awards. He frequently conducts proceedings before the district courts, the courts of appeal and the Dutch Supreme Court. Remme combines his practice with a position as Professor of Civil Litigation at Utrecht University. He lectures and regularly publishes on dispute resolution. Read on.

RICHARD WITVLIET (1986)

Richard specialises in M&A. He mostly advises British private equity funds whose focus is on the healthcare or tech sectors. With a master's degree in Business Economics, Richard draws on an interdisciplinary approach to law and financial economics to advise clients. From 2016 to 2017, he was seconded to the prominent London law firm of Herbert Smith Freehills. In 2018, he won Alex van Groningen’s M&A Award for Best Young M&A Lawyer. Read on.
