A brighter horizon for sustainable aviation fuel

Houthoff advised the (future) 50/50 joint venture between Sasol and Topsoe on the establishment and signing of a joint venture agreement solidifying both parties’ commitment to produce sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) and contribute to global efforts in combating climate change.

The purpose of the Sasol Topsoe JV is to develop, build, own, and operate SAF plants, and market SAF derived primarily from non-fossil feedstock, utilising green hydrogen, sustainable sources of CO2 and/or biomass with a specific focus on Sasol’s Fischer Tropsch and Topsoe’s related technologies.

Topsoe’s counsel was Accura, Sasol has been advised by its in-house team. The transaction is subject to clearance of the relevant competition authorities.
