Lucas specialises in notarial real estate law. His clients include institutional investors, private equity investors, pension funds and project developers, which he assists with matters such as commercial real estate transactions, project development, real estate financing and real estate-related contracts. Lucas is a member of the Royal Dutch Association of Civil-law Notaries, the Master of Real Estate (MRE) Alumni Society, and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (the international network for real estate professionals). In addition, he is a member of Houthoff’s Executive Committee.

- Advised CBRE Global Investors / Dutch Residential Fund on the sale of a housing portfolio of 11 complexes to the Canadian CAPREIT for approximately EUR 83 million.
- Advised a.s.r. real estate on the acquisition – on behalf of ASR Dutch Prime Retail Fund – of a retail portfolio from Phoenix Joint Venture C.V. with a total value of approximately € 100 million.
- Advised a.s.r. real estate on the incorporation and structuring of ASR Dutch Farmland Fund and the contribution and transfer of thousands of farmland parcels to the new fund.
