Paul specialises in complex cross-border disputes. His practice includes international mass claims (class actions under the Dutch WAMCA), competition law follow-on litigation, cross-border debt collection and asset tracing. Paul excels at determining international strategies in matters where several possible courts may have jurisdiction and foreign parallel proceedings are already pending. In this context, he advises on jurisdiction motions, cross-border discovery, attachment of assets, the invocation of arbitration clauses and the enforcement of foreign judgments. Paul has successfully represented various large companies and conglomerates in Dutch courts, often in multiparty disputes requiring smooth cooperation with other counsel. Houthoff's Corporate/M&A, Finance, and Restructuring & Insolvency teams also consult Paul for private international law advice in transactions.
