Five nominations for Houthoff at the Benchmark Europe Awards 2026

Houthoff has been shortlisted in five categories at the Benchmark Europe Awards 2026, the annual awards programme of Benchmark Litigation recognising leading dispute resolution firms and practitioners across Europe. The firm has been nominated for National Law Firm of the Year (Netherlands), as well as Firm of the Year in both Class Actions Defence and Domestic Arbitration. Albert Knigge has been recognised with a nomination for National Litigator of the Year (Netherlands), while Thomas Stouten has been shortlisted for Litigator of the Year in International Arbitration.

The nominations reflect the breadth of Houthoff’s disputes practice. Across litigation, arbitration and class actions, the firm is involved in some of the most significant disputes before Dutch courts and arbitral tribunals. Over the past year, Houthoff teams have acted in complex cross-border litigation, large-scale class actions, international arbitration matters and proceedings before the Dutch Supreme Court.

Albert Knigge’s nomination for National Litigator of the Year (Netherlands) recognises his leading role in the Dutch class actions market. As Head of Class Actions at Houthoff, he advises clients in complex collective proceedings, mass claims and cross-border disputes. He has been involved in several landmark class action matters before the Dutch courts and regularly acts in cases that help shape the development of collective redress in the Netherlands.

Thomas Stouten’s nomination for Litigator of the Year in International Arbitration recognises his leading role in international arbitration practice. As Head of Arbitration, he advises and represents clients in complex domestic and international arbitration proceedings. He has recently acted in several high-profile international disputes involving multinational companies and sovereign states.
