Jurre focuses his practice primarily on digital business and data. He advises and litigates on matters relating to data, online sales, new technology legislation, consumer protection, digital platforms, contractual disputes and automated decision-making. Legal 500 has recognised him as a Rising Star in the field of Information Technology and Data Privacy & Data Protection.

Jurre acts for consumer product manufacturers, platforms, digital service providers and financial service providers, amongst others. Jurre has represented clients in dozens of court proceedings and before various alternative dispute resolution bodies. He also has experience in assisting clients in investigations and enforcement actions by the Authority for Consumers and Markets and Dutch Data Protection Authority.

Many of Jurre's clients are active in the automotive and mobility sectors. For that reason, Jurre has the necessary sector knowledge and a good understanding of the impact of new technology legislation (e.g. the Data Act and the AI Act) in those sectors.

Jurre publishes articles and commentaries in legal journals. He is a member of the Dutch Association for Information Technology and Law (NVvIR), Association for Media and Communication Law (VMC), International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), as well as the Association for Privacy Law (VPR) and its specialisation association VPR-A.

In 2012, Jurre won the Academy of Law's Thesis Award for his master's thesis. He also won the AIPPI's VIE prize in 2013 and received an honourable mention for the 2012 Molengraaff Thesis Prize.

  • Advised Kia Nederland on its cooperation with Road in order to establish a new consumer-facing chargepoint management service for owners of its electric vehicles

  • Advised Marktplaats and 2dehands.be (part of Adevinta) about the specific requirements for online platforms under the Digital Services Act (EU Regulation 2022/2065) and DAC7 (EU Directive 514/2021)

  • Advised DAF Trucks on setting up an online sales platform for used trucks

  • Represented Ola Cabs before the Amsterdam Court of Appeal in the case of three London app drivers invoking their data protection rights to get personal data and information from Ola Cabs regarding automated decision-making. 

  • Represented RDW (Vehicle Licensing Authority) before the Council of State (highest administrative court) in proceedings brought by a group of data subjects alleging violations of the GDPR by RDW pertaining to automated decision-making.

     

  • Advised SPS Commerce, Inc. on the acquisition of all business and operations of TIE Kinetix, listed on Euronext Amsterdam.

  • Lodged a B2B complaint with the Dutch Advertising Code Committee (RCC) on behalf of Marktplaats (a classified advertising site based in the Netherlands) against Pakkie (a payment and delivery service company)
  • Represented classified advertisement platform Marktplaats, seeking the transfer of the domain names <marktplaatsnederland.nl> and <marktplaatsbelgie.be>. The disputed domain names were used to operate a scam by redirecting Internet users to third-party websites and fake advertisements.
  • Represented Ola Cabs in data access request proceedings before the Amsterdam District Court. This was the first judgment by an EU court on data portability.
  • Represented RDW (Dutch Vehicle Licence Authority) before the Dutch DPA and administrative courts in defence of complaints raised by a group of data subjects.
  • Advised Marktplaats, a classified advertising site based in the Netherlands, on preliminary relief proceedings brought by a professional advertiser who was blocked from the platform.
