Jurre has been working as a lawyer since 2012. He has prior experience as an in-house lawyer as well as in private practice. He covers matters related to doing business online, with a particular focus on data protection and platform regulation. His other expertise includes advertising and marketing law, copyright law, e-privacy, commercial contracts, unfair competition and electronic signatures. Jurre also has experience with data protection and consumer law in the automotive and mobility sectors.
He represents clients in court proceedings as well as before various alternative dispute resolution bodies, such as the Advertising Code Committee (RCC) and the Thuiswinkel Disputes Committee (e-commerce ADR body). Furthermore, he represents clients in enforcement actions by the Dutch DPA and the Netherlands Authority for Consumers & Markets.

Once in a while Jurre publishes articles in authoritative legal journals in the Netherlands, such as the Dutch Journal for European Law (NtEr) and Intellectual Property & Advertising Law (IER). He is a regular contributor to legal journal JBP, which publishes and comments on topical case law on data protection and privacy.
Jurre was the winner of the Academy for Legislation’s Thesis Prize in 2012, received a special commendation in the 2012 Molengraaff Thesis Prize, and was winner of the Dutch group of the AIPPI’s VIE Prize in 2013. He is a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), the Dutch Privacy Law Association (VPR) (including the subdivision for experienced qualified lawyers VPR-A), the Dutch Copyright Law Association (VvA) and the Dutch Media and Communication Law Association (VMC).

Represented RDW (Vehicle Licensing Authority) before the Council of State (highest administrative court) in proceedings brought by a group of data subjects alleging violations of the GDPR by RDW pertaining to automated decision-making.

Advised SPS Commerce, Inc. on the acquisition of all business and operations of TIE Kinetix, listed on Euronext Amsterdam.

Lodged a B2B complaint with the Dutch Advertising Code Committee (RCC) on behalf of Marktplaats (a classified advertising site based in the Netherlands) against Pakkie (a payment and delivery service company)

Represented classified advertisement platform Marktplaats, seeking the transfer of the domain names <marktplaatsnederland.nl> and <marktplaatsbelgie.be>. The disputed domain names were used to operate a scam by redirecting Internet users to third-party websites and fake advertisements.

Represented Ola Cabs in data access request proceedings before the Amsterdam District Court. This was the first judgment by an EU court on data portability.

Represented RDW (Dutch Vehicle Licence Authority) before the Dutch DPA and administrative courts in defence of complaints raised by a group of data subjects.

Advised Marktplaats, a classified advertising site based in the Netherlands, on preliminary relief proceedings brought by a professional advertiser who was blocked from the platform.
