Attorney-at-law | Counsel
CV

Charissa is part of the litigation practice and specialises in restructuring, insolvency and related proceedings, with a strong focus on complex, cross-border insolvency matters. She regularly acts for Dutch and international corporates and financial institutions, working closely with leading independent law firms in the Netherlands and abroad. Charissa combines her extensive litigation experience with a solid background in restructuring and insolvency law, complemented by a background in the financing transaction practice. This allows her to move seamlessly between litigation and transactional dynamics, and she effectively guides clients through disputes involving financial distress, stakeholder management and cross-border restructurings. She also has a keen sense of her clients’ commercial interests, advising them on both the legal and strategic dimensions of these matters. Before joining Houthoff, Charissa worked ten years at another leading Dutch law firm, where she developed into an experienced litigator and restructuring expert.

Litigation
Business disputes can have a major impact on your organisation's reputation, continuity and financial position. Conflicts are becoming increasingly common due to growing regulation and social pressure. Shareholder disputes, contractual conflicts, directors' liability and collective actions invariably call for a well thought-out strategy and a thorough understanding of the sector.
Restructuring & Insolvency
Periods of financial distress demand fast, informed decisions. Whether facing operational setbacks, liquidity issues or broader market pressures, companies need clear legal guidance to protect value and manage risk.
