Jan Cees is gespecialiseerd in vastgoedtransacties, (binnenstedelijke) herontwikkeling en turnkey projecten. Daarnaast is hij gespecialiseerd in vastgoed gerelateerde ondernemingsrecht waaronder de overname van vastgoed vennootschappen en andere vastgoedgerelateerde samenwerkingsverbanden. Zijn cliënten bestaan voornamelijk uit (inter)nationale/institutionele beleggers en ontwikkelaars die hij behalve juridisch ook op strategisch gebied adviseert. Sinds 2018 heeft Jan Cees consequent een Band 1 ranking en een Star Individual titel van Chambers Europe gekregen voor zijn werk in vastgoed. Jan Cees is door Legal 500 aangewezen voor de Hall of Fame binnen Real Estate.

- Advised Greystar on the acquisition from 3w real estate and AT Capital, of 407 to be developed residential units in the Orchard I project in Rijswijk.
- Advised on the acquisition of the shares in the IEF portfolio by a consortium led by CBRE Investment Management (three institutional investors from the Netherlands, plus CBRE Dutch Retail Fund). IEF is a joint venture formed by Bouwfonds Investment Management and IEF Capital. The portfolio consists of 31 Dutch retail properties (mostly flagship stores), including the well-known Dutch retail chains HEMA and de Bijenkorf.
- Advised CBRE Investment Management, on behalf of one of its funds, on the acquisition of two holiday parcs from Dormio, by way of an asset deal, and acted as notary regarding the preceding share transfer deal, involving 30 vacation parks, from Roompot (KKR) to Dormio.
